Good luck Captain.
It's just deer - they look pretty on the wall, but they don't laugh, cry, talk, and get mad at you.
I think due to painting 2 rooms in the house this weekend and fixing a toilet and shower that I might get
some hunting in this weekend. The rub is my dad wants me to rifle hunt. [:@] He is sick of tracking
wounded animals. Last weekend, a kid shot with bow a black coyote we had been spotting (must be a
dog/coyote mix) with a great blood trail and guts and they trailed it forever and never found it - so we
are on a real bad streak - frickin palmettos suck. For his sake, I might mix it up. I've got one stand I
could easily bring both a gun and bow - what do you think about that? Ethics police

On a positive, on the corner stand by clover plot, a kid saw a nice 8 point about 75 yards away heading
towards him at dark. Also, dad took my advice and put up a ground blind on a trail in the CRP. On the
cams we got some new (to us) big bucks coming into the big food plot at night - one looks like a
huge bodied 10. Only seeing 6s in the day on cam. Big boys aren't slipping up yet.
I'm trying hard to get myself invited on some local hunts.

So far it's not paying off. I also think I
found a good place to hunt for next year - one of my elderly clients has 80 acres that was cut for timber
3 years ago (good regrowth - briars, etc.). The only problem is it is in a rural, redneck, everybody is a
"deer hunter" area - so I will be wearing a ton of hunter's orange and will have to watch my ass.
