I have one like you described (that straps to your ankle)--got it with a bow I bought several years ago. It allows you to use the step-through method without twisting a limb--no torque since the bow can move within the loop. I think one is as good as the other, just depends on your preferance. I would like to know who is selling them though--mine is the only one I have seen, aside from a friend who got a bow from the same bowyer I did.
