RE: 10 - Official Team Germ Warfare Thread
I duuno fellas...I'm burnt out! I've hunted the last 12 days straight! (after work on weekdays)
The action has ground to a halt! Does seem to be back together..chasing seems to be over. I even had an Old doe with 3 yearlings (2 BB's and a young doe). Come in Saturday at 7:30..only deer I saw ALL day. I had drawn on the BB as he and his sister walked in first. He turned and I saw he was a BB, so I swung onto his sister. Had to wait for her to clear a limb..out of the corner of my eye, on their backtrail I see more deer coming. The mother and another BB. I let down. Wait on MOM. She comes in feeds under me, finally offer a shot, she sees me..starts walking off..I draw she never gives a good shot. I let down. She didn't spook but she saw me and didn't care for the blob in the tree!
So at 1:00 I climb down with a good wind to hunt the Piebald farm. I drive over there!I get there and ALL the corn is down! Every last stalk! ..so I get there knowing I'll see nothing for 3 hrs ..and thats exactly what happens. The only thrill was the Great horned Owl that swooped in and sat in a big dead tree for a few minutes.
I'm outta the woods tonight and probably tomorrow..I've hunted hard..I've passed up chances and I really feel it's gonna be late seaon before another one come along!
Youth GUN season this weekend and I couldn't hunt Saturday anyway. Then the day after Thanksgiving, I'll be off to Camp in PA for a week of Gun season with good friends and family. It's always a ton of fun! I hunt all seasons all weapons..I'll carry an Inline rifle for the gun season. I still like to make it challenging to some extent.
