Default RE: bad opening day

ORIGINAL: corey012778

it was not like I saw any deer, I did jumped 2 on the way to one of my spots. could not get a shot off though.

I got up at 5 am got my wife off to work. went out about 6 am, cold ice on the ground. did not see anything at all, 8 am rolls around, fog so thick you could not see 25 yrds, packed it up and started off for work, got about 300 yards, I had a flat tire, it was the spair, the reg. tire went flat on tuesday on the way to the range. so walked to the folks, borrowed my dad truck. got to work, about an hour later, my BELT BREAKS. finish up, got to the truck. THE BATTARY was dead. I finally get home, all my hunting cloths were on the floor. went out, this is where I jumped 2 deer. wind picks up, pants falling down, (I only have one belt). got tired of pulling my pants up, so dicharged my gun (no ear plugs I was hunting). well that was my day. I am hunting all day monday and tuesday. monday is doe day . and tuesday is going to be a good day if I get a deer or not, I get payed
You know I was reading this and was wondering if someone might have been delaying you so that you were safe. This is how I always look at a bad day like this, it could have been a lot worse. You could have been hit by a semi, or hit because someone ran a red light. At least you were able to get out and enjoy nature.

Today i went out and shot a doe with my bow. After I climbed down out of my stand I threw my back out. Now I am a little laid up and I took 3 days off to hunt the rut this weekend. I am hoping I can get some muscle relaxers for tonights sleep otherwise I am not sure I can continue to hunt.

Good luck with your season.
