Default RE: what broadhead to use

If you can get (or have someone else do it) yourbow tuned right, I would recommend going with a fixed head - like the Montec, Hellrazor, Muzzy, or Slick Trick. A lot less things to go wrong. Good track record - reliable under even extreme conditions. A lot of folks who shoot expandables are not able to get their bows tuned properly, so they hit the "EASY" button - and the expandables generally fly just like field points. Some of them are real efficient killers under ideal conditions, but applying the KISS principle the fixed heads have the edge.

Having said that, I am playing with the Rage two blade heads right now. Used one a mule deer a few days back and was very favorably impressed. I would like to test drive them on a few more medium big game animals before making any rash endorsements. And I'm still convinced that for bigger meaner stuff -like elk, bear, and moose; it would take a lot of convincing to screw on anything but a fixed head. Some of the best archers I know swear by the G5 Montec screwed to an Easton Axis shaft - use 'em on everything.
