. As for the belt slipping, this is mostly a function like I said of how I (and a lot of other duck hunters) hunt. I leave the bike sitting in the water for hours on end (I know there is a lot of water in upstate NY, but try leaving your bike in it for 6 1/2 to 7 hours and see how it likes it), this is probably the worst condition you can ask a bike to perform under and the Honda' s just keep on going (that' s why there are so many down here).
Proper maintenance is definitely key, and it will keep any scooter running longer. The problem is, most people don' t maintain their bikes, they just use them. This is probably the single biggest reason hondas are so popular because they don' t seem to need as much maintenance.
