Default My First Buck With a Bow (pic)

This is my second year of bow hunting and last year I didnt get a buck. I actually missed one last year. But this year I got my first buck with a bow.

The evening started out pretty good. Early in the evening 3 does came down the hillside right by my stand. After about 15 minutes 2 of the does left. Then about 20 minutes after the 2 does left a little six and a really little 8 came out and were chasing her around. Then off in the distance I heard two other deer coming.

I look back and walking down the trail is my deer (a ten point) followed by a decent 8 point. The front buck caught eye of the doe and walked right out in the open and presented me a shot at about 20 yds. So I drew my bow and shot him. The shot was really good I actually got him in the heart. He was slightly quartering towards me. I was shooting 85 grain montecs so they seemed to do the job. He ended up running about 125 yds and went down.

The cool thing about my shot was that I had bought before season an Illumenok to put on my arrow. I just put it on before the hunt and it was really neat seeing the arrow glowing while flying through the air and then sticking the deer. Thanks!
