This has been the toughest season for me.
My best spot has had some blue tongue but it wasn't as bad in my area as some.
Then the weather has been tough and along with crop rotation and not having as much free time to hunt with the kids being so active,my shot opportunities have been almost non existant.
Well tonight,I have several does and turkeys come in around me and finally right before dark, have a nice big doe broadside at 25 yards. She was moving through the thicket pretty good so I had to stop her with a bah sound, well, she looked right at me and I put the 20 and 30 rightin the middle of the vitals.BIG mistake as I should have aimed lower because she was looking right at me when I shot and I can HONESTLY say this is the first time I have had a deer duck the shot.
I was 80-90% sure that was what happened and that it was a clean miss.About 10 minutes later I have a doe walk under my standand stand broadside at 10 yards but not having inspected my arrow from the first shot,I decided to pass just in case butasI expected, arrow was clean.[:@]
The doe that came under the stand was definately showing signs she would be ready soon.
