Default RE: My first elk bowhunt

Good story Montanahunter, you have acomplished something some hunters haven' t done in a life time, congratulations, I am sure you had a great teacher. I too am familiar with the Sweetgrass area. I applied for the 401 unit for the antelope (usually guaranteed) and thought since I was going to get a guaranteed antelope tag, I went ahead and chose as my last choice, an anterless mulie. I got rejected on the antelope( you figure?) and got drawn for the mulie. I didn' t want to go over to Sweetgrass and just shoot a doe, my action here was hot enough and could not justify leaving it to shoot a doe. However I am going to try it again this year as we all may hook up, but I be shooting a bull here myself during the peak of the rut in Sept., since I know the terriorty a little better.
