Greetings all.

Hope everyone is having a great season whatever you are hunting.

My family goes to Charlotte, NC for Christmas. I am not going. I would rather go hunting but I am not sure what options I have open to me at that time. As the name implies, I would like a self-guided hunt. I have been looking at Utah because there seem to be cow elk tags available but in high snow country and it sounds iffy.

So, it may be an odd question, but anyone got any suggesstions? I am not looking for Boone and Crocket material. I would just like to go somewhere else and do a self-guided hunt for cow elk or possibly whitetails. Or maybe something else.
