Default RE: 10 - Official Team Germ Warfare Thread

went out this afternoon and had a great time. around 4:40 a spike and four pointer come moving through just out of range, about fifty yards out. around thirty minutes later 5:10 i hear movement behind me, i turn and see antlers coming towards me from about 100 yards down the trail through the brush. i stand turn around and get the bow ready, i was sure it was going to be an eight pointer and it was my time. i could tell it was a decent basket rack, so i pulled back and when it stepped out in the open settled my pin...then i realized it was a six pointer.....i contemplated the shot for what seemed like an eternity, but decided this wasnt the right buck to be my first with a bow...ive been at it for three years passin bucks like this, and didnt want to let my self down by settling now. it would have been an eight if it had brow tines. just a basket rack right at his ears, looked young 1.5 and like he had goodpotential based on the mass and spread for that little rack. anyway, he finally left and i was happy i let him go. hopefully it will pay off later this year.

not ten minutes after that i see gray movement through the brush ahead of me. i first thought squirrel, but when i realized it was much to big i stood up and got the bow ready. i figured it was a coyote. as dry as it was, i couldnt for the life of me figure out how this thing was so quiet. it was literallya ghost, i knew where it was but i still lost it like 3 times before it finally stepped into a clear lane in front of me about 50 to 60 yards away. it was a freakin bobcat! i was stoked. this is the second year in a row that i have seen one in this area. i thought he may put a stalk on a squirrel that was about 5 yards from my tree, but instead he kept ghosting through the woods. he was making QUICK time and made literally ZERO noise. pretty scary thought[&:] i would have stuck him if he would have been only 15 yards closer, it was a perfect shootin lane.

ive always wanted a bobcat mount

i have been losin thewill to keep goin outwith few sightings this year but a hunt like this refuels me for another month or so lol. great day in the woods. cant hunt tomorow, but ill be back saturday am, hopefully with a doe or 8 pointer+ walkin by.
