Default RE: CXL 150

JD. Good tip on the 150s. Question: Would a small amount of heat and using hot melt on the tips change the characteristics of the shaft and cause an unsafe condition. I have been doing this ever since they first come out and have had good luck with them holding up, and have changed point weight numerous times, by using minimum heat on the very tip of the point and pulling it out and re-inserting with minimum heat also. Have never had one pull out either, not even in a cold old McKenzie HD. Just was wondering if anyone else or you have ever used hot melt on them, it is probably a real no-no, but so far I have been lucky. Thanks, DKL
