I seen 3 fresh scrapes, and I went about 5 yards into the main section, there were about 20-30 trees just shredded
well you know he/they areusing the area, sounds like you may need to adjust your approach, and make adjustments accordingly, i had found some good sign a few years back, the trouble was getting in and out W/O buggering the area up too bad. the deer was bedding with thickets on three sides and a hillside to his back, he could detect trouble from all four directions, and he was giving me the slip every time i was going in (saw the buck 2X rear view [:@]while he was leaving, the two other hunts were morning hunts)with all five hunts in the area within a 21 day time frame. finally found where there was a small opening (natural funnel) between two of the thickets, only about 30 yrds wide, big hardwoods, waited till the wind was right, moved in mid-day 11:00am his girl friend brought him right too me at 2pm. looking back it was all pretty much text-book, but when i found all the rubs and several "hot" scrapes, i kind of hunted the area with reckless abandone, and threw caution to the wind.when i gathered myself back up and started using my head things just fell into place. he had outsmarted me 4 out of 5 times.. if i was a betting man, i'd bet the bucks you jumped willbe back soon, one other thing i only let this spot cool down 5 days at the most, the other 4 hunts were all in a 2 week time frame..
good luck i wann see pic's
