Sounds like your scenario is what I do every time I go deer hunting. Just be aware that if you do get one back in there you're going to have to know how to bone it out and you'll need a pack that can handle a whole deer. Oh yeah, and the legs that can carry that 60-90# pack. My preferred method is to bring along a big non-hunting friend and let them carry the pack!

Any scent control you do on a hunt like that (hiking 2 miles into the mountains) is going to be worthless so you better pay close attention to the wind. Shoot us a big'un!!!
