I have a Marlin 30-30 and couldn't be happier with it. I'm a huge lever nut. Its a great bush gun and I'd trust it through anything. .270 is a great round, but overkill for coyotes. If you value the fur and would like to have at least one whole piece, I wouldn't choose the .270

The 30-30 will git 'r done.
