Did you hear acrash? or did he keep going out of hearing distance? I shot one similar to this once before. He was quartering to me slightly and I did not get a clean pass through, however, the arrow was sticking out the shoulder and the bottom chest cavity at the same time. In other words, the arrow punctured all the way through with about 5 in" of arrow coming out both sides. The deer ran about 50 yds and expired, he was a big deer almost 200 lbs.
