RE: New Remington 710 rifle
Was in the Bass Pro Outdoor World in Nashville yesterday and they had a Remington 770 out on one of the racks. The 770 replaced the 710 and improved on some of the features. The bolt was definitely easier to operate than the one on my 710. I think the 770 also weights more than the 710, but I don't know if that's good or bad. I do like the light weight of my 710. There wasn't a magazine in the rifle, but I worked the magazine release and I could tell it was a little beefier than the one on the 710.
Be blowing the dust off my 710 here shortly and taking it to the range to check the zero and get some practice. Also be taking my Springfield 1903 to see what I can do with it. I took it hunting last year, but didn't get a chance to take a shot. Hopefully get in the field a little more this year.
