I'd go even cheaper. I bought a Maverick at Walmart, made by Mossberg and it's the same gun as the 500 and accepts all 500 barrels, etc. The only difference is the safety, it feels a little cheaper and I think the internals on the slide are a little different. Odd thing is, my turkey was just as dead as the guy I know who shot his with a $1500 Benelli.
