RE: Goose Calls
You cannot expect to pick up any call and make it sound goosey it just doesnt work that way. A call from a maker like Tim Grounds or Jeff Foiles which are hand tuned by them or someone on their staff will not need any tuning. Practice is the only thing that is gonna help, and that costs nothing. I have been blowing calls for like 8 years now and I can pick almost any short reed call and make it sound good, but I have used so many and practiced so much to make that happen. If you have a long commute to work or stuck in traffic keep them in your car, practice there, practice on a lunch break, I would say do it at home but my lady won't allow me to do that, she told me that she would shoot me if she had to listen to it anymore, lol. Thats all it will take a few weeks of practice and you should be ok. Don't expect to pick one up on the way to the field and be able to make it work.
