Interesting Observation - Full Moon
Hunting yesterday afternoon in central Illinois during a full moon was very uneventful. The woods were unusually still and i saw zero deer movement.
During the 2 mile walk back to mytruck I saw several deer still bedding down! It was dark and I was using my LED light for the walk back and was illuminating deer eyes every couple of hundred yards, bedded in tall grass.
Then during the drive home I took some extra time to scope out the fields with my night vision scope and found the same thing. Deer bedded in open cut bean fields and alongside creeks.
I've never really bought into the idea that hunting was bad/different during full moons but this is credible evidence supporting that!
Deer movements (sightings) here have been during normal expected times until yesterday.... what gives?
Has anybody else noticed similar? Or did anyone notice anything contradictory?
