EAB makes people do stupid things. Think about it, you are heading into day 1 of the season and you can't shoot a buck because you didn't shoot your doe yet. You wait all year for that magical opening morning and you can't shoot a buck if he walks by. That thought is enough to make a normally sensible person do stupid things. Contrary to the DNRs belief that there is a deer behind every tree, some areas aren't blessed with the big deer populations. Heading into this years gun season I am the only 1 of our 8 guys in camp that is already buck eligible. We tried our best last year but it was a down year. For the first time in my life, I felt guilty after shooting a deer. I shot a doe fawn for the sole purpose of getting that stupid little sticker and a year later it still bugs me. I'm not saying it's right, ethical, or even trying to excuse it per se, but I do understand why it happens.
