Bears are not stealthy predators and don' t like confrontation take whatever gun you feel most comfortable for the caribou. 270 will be plenty enuf gun for anythging you might need it for. it' s not what you shoot it' s where you shoot it that matters. the guides don' t carry that should tell you something also.
