If you hit a deer with a vehicle here in WI. all you have to do is report the accident and ask for a tag for the deer if you want to keep it. With road kill tags being free, would you use your buck tag on a buck you hit with your truck? Why would you, you can tag it for free and keep your buck tag? You didn't have to hit a doe to earn hitting a buck. It took no skill to hit a deer with an automobile, just bad luck.
Why not just man up and earn your buck the right way? If you have cheated the system, you at least owe it to the rest of us to speak up, get involved and do everything you can to get the laws changed so you don't have to break the laws and make the rest of us look bad. You can write in a forum, write to your law makers, call them, go to the DNR meetings, do something to make a difference.
What are we teaching our children? To pick and choose what laws to obey and what laws to ignore? If you don't like a law, just ignore it? Find away to get around it? The program isn't called Run over a doe to earn a buck. Hunting is A privilege and the DNR is all we got to manage the deer population. When you've put in the hours and done the studies, done as much research as the DNR has, come up with a plan, a goal, all the things we get from our hunting dollars, then maybe you should have the right to deside what rules and regs. to follow. Until then, do your part, honor the privilege and earn your buck or drive to the next county that's not EAB. If you don't like it, show the children that you have respect for the law and that when you disagree with a law you try to get the law change through the proper channels.
