RE: New Remington 710 rifle
I have owned my 710 since they were first introduced. Paid only $325+tax for the money the gun cannot be beat. I looked at the savage that was in the same price range but it looked cheap right along with the price. I won’t kid anybody the 710 is a rifle for the cheaper end of the hunting market. This is why I purchased it, but like many others Ienjoy very accurate rifles and the 710 gives good groupings for any hunter that doesn’t rely on extreme shots. As I was looking for better accuracy I broke the rifle down to find the problem with my groupings that were on average 1-1.5". After finding were the stocks was rubbing the barrel and floating the barrel I have achieved .5" groups at 200yds with factory Federal ammunition. Unless you are a competition shooter that is a good enough group to soot even the pickiest of shooters. I have not had any problems with the bolt blowing back either though I have heard a lot on the boards I have kept a close eye when I am shooting and do not see any signs that might cause this to happen.
