Default RE: Deer keds parasite

Our deer are loaded with them in PA. Most hunters mistakenly refer to them as ticks. They are a fly and drop their wings when they find a host. They land on people and bite them too. I have been bitten on the neck by them before. They move very fast as opposed to ticks, even in cold weather.
I believe thatPA is infested withthem because of the overpopulation of deer in past years.
