Default Staining antlers

I found a 140 + class 11pt buck that died of EHD. He was still in velvet but it was starting to split. Needless to say it was to late to save the velvet. It was starting to smell. I stripped the velvet off with a presssure washer but the antlers still have an odor. The rack minus the velvet looks likereplica antlers. How do I get rid of the odor and go about staining the antlers so they look more like real antlers? Thanks
