Time To Climb the Oak & Act Like A Nut
Well after seven days of solid rain, it's supposed to be nice over the weekend. Time to get up in the stand and see what happens. My trail cam has been out for a week and this afternoon when I checked it, there was 180 photos on it! Bout had a stroke waiting for the computer to download all the photos. After I had them downloaded, I walked the 1/2 mile back to the house to review the photos. Where there more deer than the 8 point & 10 point already captured on memory? Did that monster that was the first photo my I40 ever caught walking past this tree stand? The anticipation was killing me. I only made it into the garage before I sat down to view all the traffic. I opened the file and there they were....
180 photos of the trees waving in the wind while it was raining! Not a single creature on any of the photos. Time to check my other camera. I walk 500 yards to the other camera and the 6V battery is dead! I take the camera down and walk back to the house. I hook the battery up to the charger and wait.
And wait.
And wait.
Finally the battery is charged back up AND...not a single photo on it.
So, in the morning, I'm walking back to the Oak tree stand and I'm not coming down til I see some deer (or I get really hungry!). I've seen quite a few deer on the property and am on military leave until the 29th. Already told the wife the put the "honey-do" list away until after I fill my tag. I got the fever and the only cure is through my Jennings.
Wish me luck and good luck to everyone else on tomorrows hunt.
