quote:Publicly accessable hunting lands on which there are sufficient populations of game as to make bagging something not too impossible are rapidly disappearing. Hunters that are willing to walk more than 100 yards from a fire lane or logging road are rapidly disappearing as well- think there's a correlation?
There probably is. America in general has become a lazy, overweight, materialistic society that doesn't like giving up any sort of comfort. Look at all the hunters who think they need ATV's to hunt. Most hunters have stands no more than a couple of hundred yards from a road and yet they feel they need to fire up an ATV to get them to it! Just doesn't make any sense. City folks AND rural folks are NO better than the other either. The city folks may like their fancy sports cars and expensive clothes and things, while in small town America everyone seems to need the latest truck or ATV while they would be better off to do some walking to burn off some of the blubber they have accumulated over the years. Then people wonder why they have no money. If they didn't waste it on useless stuff, maybe they would have some!
