With all the other hunters blasting away your chance of getting a deer within bow range will be slight at best, so why limit yourself to a single weapon choice? Unless you're well ahead of the pack where the deer will be running you're highly unlikely to get a shot at all, and running shots with a bow are extremely risky. Choose the option that has the best chance of yielding results.
