Hello everybody. I was hoping some of you could give a first year bow hunter some much needed advice. I've beengettinginfo here for awhile now, but have never posted myself.

I hunt 10 acres of timber that lies on our family farm in N.Central IA, which is surrounded by farmland on all sides. I was out in a stand 2 nights ago and saw probably the biggest buck I may ever lay eyes on again.He was defininately a mature deer with drop tines and all (thought I was going to have a heart attack!). ItWould have been an easy shot, except I was packing up to go home at the time. By the time I got an arrow and my release back out, he smelled me and bolted. Man is this frustrating!

Do those old boys stick around after that, or do you think he's gone for good? If there's a chance he's still in the area, should I stay out of there for a while or justchange things up withdifferent stands, scents, etc.? Any advice will be greatly appreciated.
