Yeah, load some up and try it out. A .270 will group well with 130-150 grain bullets, anything heavier than 150 though and the groups really start opening up. I just loaded some 140 gr. Nosler ballistic tips and they shot real nice, so did the Speer spbt's in 150gr. though. I know from experience that the 130gr bullets work real well on deer, the only thing that I dont really like though is how big the exit wounds tend to be when shot under 75 yards. But that is to be expected with any bullet traveling at or near 3000 fps.
