last season my friend was bow hunting one morning and a big mature deer came out. it was a massive 6 pt (very wide, tall tines, no brow tines, very heavy)that weighed wellover 200 lbs. it20 yds out. the arrow hits a smalllimb andhits it in the butt. we never find it. 3 weeks later he sees the deer again and it has a limp. he shoots at it from 15-20 yds andsticks the arrow the shoulder blade. we never find him. the next week(last week ofhunting season)his little brother is gun hunting and sees the deer about 120yds out. he takes a shot and misses and the deer runs off. now either this is one lucky deer or that is some bad luck. any opinions on this?
Def. sounds like he needs to practice. It's just not right to wound an animal like this.
I understand a deer can jump the string and all that.. but , from your story.. He had , other then him not clear his shooting lanes properly on the first shot, he had open shots and just missed ?
