I do not have something real elaborate. It is simple for me, my father. But I feel that since he was extremely patient in the whole introduction to the sport I feel worthy of mentioning him. See it was simple for me (so I thought) I saw a deer inthe shed he had shot with archery euipment and I thought that was the coolest....bingo...I am hooked. Not that simple, after my initial excitement, I sorta calmed down and told my Dad that I wanted to "kill a deer". He gently pulled me back into reality. He explained , Firts and foremost, that it is NOT about "killing deer". He said I do it for the 1. Challenge (by the way he used a recurve) 2. the time in the woods 3. The meat. We ate plenty of venison (as I still do today). He wanted to pound into my liitle head that there is tradition and pride invloved in hunting, that is why it is called hunting and NOT killing. We need not abuse it nor disrespect it. I could go on but I think I am over the word limit.


Simply put, I appreciate my Father for the man he made me today.
