Two places that aren't bad drives are LauderdaleWMA and Freedom Hills WMA in NW Alabama. Both can get a little crowded on the weekends, but are full of birds. You can also make the drive to Black Warrior WMA which is the largest in Alabama. The numbers have fallen off some the last few years but it is fairly easy to find room to hunt.
