I have not been following along to well on these expriments, but looking at your velocities - I would say they are way to low. Those velocities are barely up to 460 grain conical speed. Also might be why the crush ribs are working for you - not much pressure involved at those speeds.
If you look at the base of the gold do you will see that it is slightly con-caved - I have found, and this is just me, that if you choose to shoot them at extended ranges, you need to have the velocity to push them there. The aerodymanics of the base require that. I am shooting the 300 grain with a average velocity of 1775 fps with most shots being right at 1800 fpsand get really good groups but I am using the HPH-24. When using the Crush Rib I would loose about 400 fps at the muzzle - but that could be because my bore is a bit to large for the CR or the 3p
