Default RE: 12- Official Team 12 Thread

Got in the stand around 3:45 thusday. At about 5:30 I took out the small set of rattling antlers I use and just "tickled" them together. Not 5 mins later a small (very small) buck came out to see whats up. He got about 8yds away, decided not to shoot. A couple mins later a doe and button buck came out, button got within 5 yds of the tree, shot the doe at 23 yds. I hit a little far back, using the rage 2 blade. I nicked the lung but got mostly gut. She still didnt run but 60 yds or so and piled up. Saturday morning-slept too late, but in the evening saw 2 bucks, one was maybe 120-130 inches. Would have been a pretty far shot, but I later decided I would have let him go anyways so its OK, the other buck I didnt get a good look at through all the brush. On my way out snuck up on 2 does, so I thought. Took a shot and it looked great. No blood to be found, but heard her crash. Suday morning we go to see what we can find and standing about 10yds from where I shot was 2 deer. A big doe that looked fine and a buck with only a main beam on the right side no tines no left side. I notice the hair on his back was funny looking and when he ran off he seemed fine. Looked for blood and still nothing, looked at my arrow blood. Finally came to the conclusion that I shot this one sided buck and grazed his back got a little blood but nothing more. Hes running fine just has a battle wound now. I feel bad, but I know he'll heal up quite easily and if I dont get another chance at him, at least he wont suffer a slow death. This is getting to be quite long so Im ending the story here. Not much happened Sunday, saw a couple does but nothing came in range. Duck season next weekend.
