Every shot! (Version1)
This evening I took my 1st shot on a deer and as promised I said I would let everyone know! To say the least I have been frustrated with the weather and been seeing deer but nothing I wanted to shoot cause the heat. Well It finally cooled down a little and I decided I was gonna fill a doe tag if the opurtunity arrised!
At 630pm I seen a good buck but he went out of range and then 2 minutes later 2 doe crossed the creek and headed up the hill for me. I am 20ft up in the tree and halfway up a small hill. She got 5 yards below me (Quartering to me) When I drew back and settled in on her shoulder aiming a hair high due to the angle down hill and quarting to me.
I let the arrow fly hit her directly where i wanted it to just beneath the spine at the shoulder blade. I will say the Rage did an AWSOME job busting the shoulder blade down threw the lungs out threw her belly! She ran 30 yards and crashed! I know I was a little upset at myself for not waiting the shot out I took a very tough shot I did make it count but there was room for error. I should have left her come up by me and shot her quartering away I think is an easier shot as she would of been heading up the hill, But I got her and I smacked myself for not waiting but it was the 1st one of the year I got a little antsy. I did take a few pictures with my cell phone but they are not real good and I dont want to post them cause they do not justify the beauty of the deer. I was in a hurry to get her cut up and on ice. SOrry.
