Hold your horses boys....While the actual "peak" rut may vary throughout the state, you're not gonna see any real action until end of October. In Potter County, where I hunt, weather can play a big factor. I usually take off the last week of Archery season and it has been filled with the most rut activity out of the whole season, for as long as I can remember. Last year, was hunting that same week. The weather was 65 degrees until tuesday, when a cold front came through. Was blowing snow on Wednesday and saw 4 bucks before 9am, then I shot this one....139 P&Y....ok, so I don't know how to post a pic. I envy you guys that can hunt throughout October, as it is a pleasant time to hunt, but be patient on the rut predictions....it'll come. If the bucks are still together, we're still 3 weeks away..unless we have some funny deer in our woods
