First night... no dice. Sat on the field edge and had one doe stick her nose out early, but too far, and a spike rolled out at 50 yards right at last light. It was just to dang hot where we set up (temp wise not deer movement wise). Deer stayed in the shade until dark, then ran out in the fields and bedded down, since there was no moon. Saw a very nice, tall deer at the pond opposite the farm house on the ride back after the hunt, came off the woods that run adjacent to the house.... I think I know exactly where he came from... maybe he'll be there again Tuesday night....
