Depends a few things. . .your size and shooting experiencefor a start. I started both my boys with a Remington model 7, that's a nice smaller size youth model. Comes in a few calibers but I started them with a .260, for those that don't know this round, .243 brass necked up to .260, shoots a very nice 120gr round. This is a super round for whitetail, pigs, yotes.
Top it off with a VX-II 3x9 and get a trigger job done on it you will have a very nice set up that you will use evenafter you have added others to your gun safe.
