RE: 1991 TC White Mountain Carbine: Need update
I have the same gun also, when I'm really serious about killing something, it's the first one outta the safe. Very accurate with 80grs of 2f Goex, a 240gr Hornady with a TC-HP sabot(black ones). Never could get it to shoot lead of any kind, I'd love to use a conical but not in this gun. Your gun has a 1:20 twist, the later guns had 1:38 and shot conicals much better It is without a doubt, the nicest walking gun made and it's real handy in tree stands due to it's short length. My personal preference is to stay with the irons but I hunt from the ground where shots are fast affairs and scopes just slow me down.
Befor you pump money into an inline, atleast shoot itsome and see what you get. I have a waiting list for mine, a couple of buddies arre lined up waiting for me to kick off so they can"have it"...LOL-(I've take alot of deer with mine and never any trouble)...
