It's legal here to shoot them off the roost - and this past May, on the next to last day of the season, I roosted five toms on a ridge top. Walked right under one and thought about a 12 yard shot. Didn't feel right. Got up the next morning and ambushed them walking down a trail to water. That felt pretty good
