I have a Douglas Premium air guaged in 6x284. Barrel steels of today arefar superior than they were like back when the .220 Swift came out and earned a reputation as a barrel burner. Talk to the barrel manufacturer first and get your informationstraight from the horses mouth. IF you are zinging them at 3800-4000 fps ask if a chrome lined barrel won't help or ask what they recommend.
