Default RE: Bowtech Patriot Review

I have to get accustomed to this new format. It once was so easy to just scroll down on the same window to find previous responses and answer them so it may take me a little longer to respond to all of them. I apologize ahead of time for missing any.

Big Country,

Definitely true. The draw cycle is probably the chief contributor to all that speed. It did become more and more manageable over time and I would not have a problem using it provided the valley was a bit bigger.

Cpahunter,

Thank you. That is the whole purpose for me to put these together....to provide and accurate depiction of my experience with the bow. It may differ from what others experience but it is a truthful depiction of what I thought of the bow.

As for the comparison...as has been made mention of in several subsequent posts...

On both " stock" bows....

The Razortec is quieter.
The Patriot is faster.
The Razortec has a smoother draw cycle.
The Patriot is slightlymore stable.

Both bows are extremely accurate overall and I could find no apparent difference in the quality of the construction of the bows. Components on the other hand only show their true nature over time. As I don' t tend to own many bows for an extended period of time I cannot comment on the reliability of either bow' s components unless I have owned a similar model previously.

Jeff,

Yes. I think you could say that. . I feel very lucky to have been in the position to try both of these bows relatively soon after they were first introduced. I think they are the " cream of the crop" in terms of what I have seen and tried so far from the 2003 lineup. But, there are so many bows out there and so little time...

Cajun and PDQ,

You two just illustrated my point. A person can look at my experience from a variety of different perspectives. It is really how we choose to perceive those experiences that make them positive and negative. That is why I try to fully explain my preconceived notions before going into any explanation of my findings. Thank you both for the comments.

Two Beards,

I am glad to help. Let me know what you eventually decide on and why.

Ausie,

Yes. The saying " different strokes for different folks" would apply in this instance...but then again you might never know if they new valley that they might introduce will feel better unless you try it...

Related to your second comment, I had to go through the same discussion with some guys at the local 3D shoot. They just could not figure out why I could not get my arrows out of the Mckenzies even with slick lube....

WWAG,

Those are some pretty impressive numbers and right in line with what I had found. The bow is consistant from one unit to the next. That speaks to the people behind the scenes.

Jerry,

Yes, we do agree on some of the potential improvements on the bow. I think they could only make the bow better. But then again I could be wrong. Who would want a 325 fps bow with a nice sized valley....[]

ijimmy,

I never had a problem with the Trophy Ridge sight though I don' t currently have it installed on any of my bows for the moment. I am playing with a few different ones just to see what works best for me. I seem to have some problem working with those vertical pin sights...being a gap shooter and all...

Antler Eater,

That my friend is a good question. I really like the bow but because of the minor " issues" that I had with the bow I think I am going to keep looking.
