Default RE: Slug Accuracy

I agree 100%. The Maverick is a Mossberg 500 with a couple of changes, and it accepts all 500 barrels and accessories. But, it's a beast to shoot buckshot, slugs or turkey shot from. Oddly enough, when I had a turkey in the sights and pulled the trigger I didn't feel a bit if recoil. If you can tolerate the beating you take while sighting it in it's a great shotgun.

If i were you i'd get the 20 gauge. Just as much accuracy and punching power as the 12 gauge with less recoil. I am regretting getting my deer tracker II in 12 gauge. Several of my friends and neighbors have the Ultra Slug Hunter in 20 gauge and absolutely love it.

I am also looking at getting a new slug gun setup. My son has an 870 20 ga. and loves it. I was thinking of getting the same thing, but wasn't sure if I wanted to go with the 20 or get a 12. With the newer slugs, it seems that the 12 has about the same range/accuracy as the 20's do.

What is anyones opinion?
