Default RE: WHAT BRAND OF DOG FOOD

ORIGINAL: Phil from Maine

I pay a bit more in price for the dog food I get my dogs. I choose Eaglepack Power Formula as I have active dogs and it is important to give them what they need. I also find they tend to eat less of it when they get all the nutritions they require. The cheaper stuff once in a while if needed and they eat twice as much and still start looking thinned out. I only rarely give them the cheaper stuff as I travel 100 mile one way to pick up the Eaglepack. Here is a little info from them. The power formula is 30/20 and has worked excellent with my dogs...

Eagle Pack Pet Foods pioneered holistic nutrition in the 1980’s, by engineering a way to make a meat meal based food, removing soy from the formulas and meat meals to replace corn as the first ingredient. Our Chicken Meal for example has no added hormones and is antibiotic free. Grains are herbicide free. We were the first to add nutritional supplements.

Eating Healthier With Inclusion Of Our Exclusive Combination Of “Wellness For Life”® Supplements
Today’s world is focused on health and wellness supplements for people and pets; so are we. We scoured worldwide research, consulted vets, nutritionists and respected breeders to see what they were recommending or adding to pet foods. We determined which were effective and we now add them for you. They include Prebiotics, Probiotics, Digestive Enzymes, SQM® Vitamins & Minerals, Kelp and many more.

Phil, how long have you had your dog(s) on Power? I found for mine, there was just too much filler in it and it went right through him. I've had him on a Canadian version of Innova Evo called Orijen (42/16) for the past 4 months or so. It works well, really well actually, except it opened his coat up a bit.

I'm switching now to a new feed called Nutri Source Super Performance... http://www.nutrisourcedogfood.com/vi...?id=13&catid=9

The numbers (32/21) and ingredients look real good. We'll see how he does on it. Plus they have a maintenance feed that I'll put my dog on once the season is over. There seem to be a lot of good feeds on the market. The trick is to find the one that gives you what you want. Hopefully this will be it.

Cheers,
