Default RE: Slug Accuracy

Yes you can fire slugs through choke tubes and yes that was my intention but thanks to some posters on this board i will be able to afford a fully rifled slug barrel. I didn't think you could fire slugs through choke tubes either but it says on Mossberg's website "Slugs may be fired through choke tubes except those with X-Full constrictions or designated "Turkey tubes". Generally, open choke tube constrictions will produce more consistently accurate groups. The "Improved Cylinder" tube is a popular choice for slug shooting."

Ok well i have a Deer Tracker II fully rifled slug gun and a Mossberg 500 with Full, Modified and Improved Cylinder Chokes. The area we are hunting is a deer hotspot and the average shot is between 25-50 yards because of the terrain. I saw on the mossberg website that the improved cylinder choke is the most popular to shoot slugs out of and i think i've decided i want to use my Mossberg as it is heavier, won't kick as much as the deer tracker II and i'm able to put a red dot/ scope on it as it is drilled and tapped. Will my Mossberg be accurate enough at 25-50 yards to use it? What slugs would you recommend?
Didn't know you could shoot slugs with screw in choke ? was that your intention ?
