Darn good idea to go to the 6.5-06 AI. You don't always gain worth while velocity but case life will be much better. I have had a couple 30-06 AI rifles back before the days of the 300 WM. One gained about 150 fps, the other really didn't gain anything velocity wise and actually took more powder to reach its former velocity.
