i normaly pull my elbow out alittle and have only got hit twice i have not used a arm gaurd since i was 13 it hurts alittle but not to much for me and have your draw lenth checked take a tape measure and go to a wall

then stand like you wold when draqing back with your arm on the wall and measure from your hand to your chieck that should be your draw lenth
