RE: Biggest deer in Texas (PHOTOS)
Hello Mr. Barrett,
When I first saw those pictures the other day I sent a private message to your buddy asking what county that deer was in and if the ranch was planning on selling that deer on a hunt, at the time I didnt know the pictures where taken on the Las Racias ranch. We've got a place outside of Freer and I know your ranch is well known for big bucks. This past year at the Cola Blanca banquet I sat next to Rick Friedrich as he was their accepting an award for his monster buck and I was their because of a deer I killed. Anyway we talked about his deer and he told me the story and also about the buck he was thinking about hunting this up coming season. It looks like I'll be seeing several nice bucks on the contest leaderboards that came from your place. We are personally seeing alot of BIG bucks and some major improvements on some deer compared to last year. Mother nature sure was good to us down here in south Texas this year.
I saw on your webpage you where asking what people thought this deer would score...I first had him at around 233" but after looking at those other pictures I wouldnt be suprised if he went in the mid 240"s which sounds unreal when talking about a free ranging south texas buck, but looking at the big buck they killed on the Junco last year and that big deer killed on the King Ranch several years back, I know your buck has both of them beat. And both of those bucks scored well over 220". I would love to have a frontal picture of that buck if you ever get the chance to take one...Good luck this season and I look forward to seeing these deer on the leaderboards in the next few weeks
